Transportation options from Palm Springs airport to La Quinta

Does anyone know what transporation options are available for travelers arriving at PSP and staying at La Quinta. The La Quinta web site mentions nothing--called La Quinta but ended up in a concierge voice mail. Any ideas on cost for these options? I can rent a car but wondered about shuttles or cabs.

Hey--

Palm Springs is pretty easy to get around so you may want to rent a car. You really need a car in California. But again, this is a small area and easy to get around.

The LaQuinta website says

Airport and Transportation Services
Taxis, limousines, shuttles, buses and vans can be arranged to transport you and your group to and from LAX, Ontario and Palm Springs International Airports or any other destination. Please contact our Concierge by calling 800.598.3828 for rates and information.

Not much help but apparently it isn't free. It's quite far from the airport to the resort. (Taxi - cab is approximately $60.00 each way). I found an online quote of $70 RT via a van shuttle service.

Unless you don't mind spending all of your time inside the resort I would rent a car.

We were just at the La Quinta Resort last week for Easter. Picked our son up at PS Airport and it was a good 30 minute drive there from LQ. Taxi's are there, but you need to rent a car for LQ anyway. Too many good restaurants and shops off site, unless you are just going to be there for a quick weekend.

- Agree that you should rent a car. You will be limited in restaurant, entertainment and touring options if you don't.

- $70 from PSP to LQ is a fairly accurate cab fare, with tip. It is an easy cab or shuttle ride.

Enjoy,
