Stuart, Florida suggestions?

We are spending 5 days down on Hutchinson Island [Marriott] the beginning of Jan. Is there anything in particular we should see in the area? Also, can anyone recommend a good restaurant? We're open for traveling up to an hour or two in any direction if there is something worth going to. We are a middle aged couple, so we're not looking for kids' attractions.

Hutchinson Island itself is very peaceful and nice. We used to go to a place called Conchy Joe's on the Intercoastal near Stuart, but I don;t know if it's still there. Very good food, though.

There are very excellent restaurants in Fort Lauderdale on Las Olas Blvd. The drive is about 90 minutes.

Thanks Celeste. We were looking for something laid back. This sounds like it fits the bill.

Is the Burt Reynolds theater still open in Jupiter Beach? I saw Phylis Diller there about 8 years ago and had a blast at this dinner theatre. You can go for just the show too - without eating (as we did). Have fun. I love this area of Florida.

...oops - should have mentioned Palm Beach. Great to people watch on Worth Avenue. Make sure to get in the back of the main street to the courtyards just behind the businesses. In particular behind the Polo Shop. Great art and boutiques. Also try Ta Boo` restaurant for lunch or dinner. A lively place that serves burgers to filets, seafood, pasta, etc. Good food and great fun!
