Solo trip to Keys and Everglades
I'm flying in to Key West March 24th and plan on spending 5-6 days on the Keys and in the Everglades on my own before meeting up with friends on Merritt Island Island for 5-6 days. I'm looking for ideas on selecting things to do for the Keys/Everglades part of the trip, so many choices. I'd like to do some kayaking, snorkeling and hiking or cycling. I'm thinking of staying at the Everglades Hostel to possibly do some group tour and hook up with other travelers. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry, hit post too soon......
As far as the Glades go, the two places we've enjoyed the most are the cycling the Shark Valley at the north part of the park and doing the Anahinga Trail in the Southern part.
I love the Everglades

Will you be renting a car in Key West? You will enjoy the ride from Key West up to the Everglades. It is beautiful. I agree with walking the Anhinga Trail, the wildlife there is amazing and it is only .5 mile. A good place to snorkel would be Pennecamp State Park in Key Largo http://www.pennekamppark.com/ It is 22 miles from the Anhinga Trail.
