snow in April

We live in Florida and this year we have decided for our kids to finally see snow. We have 1 week from 3/27 until 4/2.
Where do you think is the closest place that we can drive to that we will still see snow the first week in April?
Thank you

Snow in April is as unpredictable as a fart in a breeze.

You may have to very north to see that, and with gas prices the way they are, it is mush less expensive to fly.

Sometimes there is still snow in Maine, New Hapmshire, Vermont...it all depends on how much has fallen throughout winter. It is iffy...

It is not as close as you asked about but given the amount of snow they have had so far, I would guess there will still be quite a lot of snow on the ground in April in the Lake Tahoe/Truckee/Donner Summit area of the Sierra Nevada's. You could fly into SFO, Oakland, Sacramento, or Reno.

A few years ago we had two feet of snow in MA on April 1st. One year we wanted to take our daughter to Fenway on her birthday, April 17, but got snowed out. The difference between April and the other months is that it usually melts fast. I think the Rockies are your best bet. My sister who lives in Breckenridge had snow one year while the Fourth of July fireworks were falling.

Thank you, all. The reason why we are driving is because we have 4 kids!
For us, it is still cheaper to drive.
I am checking Vermont...I hope.

flafl, there is always snow in Kilington, Vt. in the begining of April. With so much snow this winter it looks as it is going to be around for a long time. The begining of April it is still winter in Vermont and Adirondacks. There is always (except aprill 1999) April snow for skiing at Whiteface near lake Placid, Ny. To make certain your kids see and play in the snow I would definietely chose Kilington. You need two days from Florida to get to kilington, VT
