Mohegan Sun vs Foxwoods Casino - any preference?

Hi all,
Still planning a week in the Northeast and will spend one day and night at one of these casinos. Haven't found any recent comments on which might be preferred and just wondered if anyone could make a suggestion? Going with two 75-year-olds who love to gamble - poker mainly.

Thanks!
Jane

We always go to Mohegan Sun. It's much less flashy and the rooms are beautiful. They just opened another casino. We go to the two new ones - fewer people as the buses leave the day crowd at Casino of the Earth. FW is spread out and some of the hotels require a shuttle ride to the casino. Not my cup of tea, but lots of people prefer it. Good luck!!

I think Mohegan is a bit better. Just had a little bit higher end feel. Though that is certainly a relative term.
Foxwoods room I had a few years ago was fine.

Mohegan has a better choice of moderately priced places to stay nearby. They also have great shows (though some sell out far in advance).

I have conducted business with both tribes and I always preferred the Mohegans.

Here is an article from the most influential Native American newspaper Indian Country Today about the Chairman of the Mashnatucket Pequots, the tribe that owns Foxwoods.

Foxwoods is also the first Native American casino, I know, to default on a loan.

Sorry one more thing. If the Mohegans receive federal money, they will refuse it, if it goes back into a fund that will help other less fortunate Native Americans tribes.
