I just returned from there this weekend. If you truly want to enjoy the southwest and don't mind staying at a non-traditional hotel like Radisson, I would highly recommend the Sky Ranch Lodge, they have a website, they are on a hilltop, overlooking Sedona and the canyon. The rooms are comfortable, clean and you have your own balcony or patio . The grounds are very serene and the service is nice. You can get a rate in the ballpark you quoted. The Radisson looked nice, but if you're going to Sedona, go to Sedona...... hope you enjoy your trip.

I have not stayed there, but was told my several Fodorites NOT to when I was planning our trip to Sedona. I had enough points for 4 free nights. If you go to tripadvisor.com and type in the Radisson Sedona, you'll read many non-favorable reviews.
While in Sedona, we went by the Radisson to see for ourselves. Well, I'm glad we didn't stay there. We didn't go inside, but from the looks of the 60ish style pool and surroundings, I'm glad we didn't.

We stayed at Sky Ranch Village in Aug. 2003 and thought it was very nice. You can walk right to the spot where everyone goes to see the sunset. The next morning I walked over there again to see the sun hitting the rocks and saw hot air balloons and had time to run back to room and grab camera, it is so close.
Great rock to climb up on down the road from Sky Ranch, I think it is probably airport rock. We were on top at 7:00 a.m. and it was a 360 view. It is a much more authentic experience than the usual chain hotel.
