Sea Venture or Madonna Inn?

Where to stay?? Sea Venture Resort is right on Pismo Beach...Madonna Inn isn't. Do I want beach or uniqueness for late October??
Thanks!

Can't really offer you a lot of help except that if you haven't looked back in these archives for the extended, and somewhat amusing, discussion of the Madonna Inn, you should. Just use the keywords "Madonna Inn". Maybe you could split the difference - do the beach and visit the Inn for lunch or dinner?!

I vote for uniqueness! Spring for the highest priced room Madonna Inn has available at the time..it will be something you talk about for the rest of your life. There is always time for a beachfront hotel...but the uniqueness of Madonna Inn is rarely a choice. Check out their website at madonnainn.com. And don't forget to have the ladies in your party get an escort to enter the Men's room at the restaurant!

Is it me, or do other people think the Madonna Inn is just plain tacky? I stayed there with my wife and it just didn't seem like that big of a deal. Yes the walls were made of rock. There was no view and the prices were outrageous. Next time I'll go with the B&B. Just my 2 cents.

Late October is now! I would go for the Madonna Inn--you don't have to stay in one of the cavemen rooms--we actually stayed in one with a hunt club theme and it was quite nice. Another time in the "Rose Room" a little too feminine for my husband. Pismo Beach might be chilly and grey, certainly not for swimming now---SLO has a pretty mission to explore and great Mexican restaurants.
