Savannah

I have a previous post on Spring trip Asheville then to Savannah. No responses on that one so did own research. I have been reading old posts and pretty much have a "pencil" itinerary. I do need advice on where to stay in Savannah. We are going to do a day Homes Tour (modified dates after read about that) and a Bike tour (due to other posts) We like B&B's but don't have to stay there. Want a couple of choices based one for your favorite, one for moderate pricing and one for best location.

I liked the Planters Inn very much for both price and location. Unless you have a car (and maybe even if you have a car), I'd strongly recommend staying in the historic downtown area.

we plan on doing alot of walking. We are definitely doing a bike tour!

Asheville--will the gardens even be worth looking at the 3rd week of March. Thinking of staying at Highland Lake Inn after see the Biltmore and shops in Asheville. We are basically driving through but want to see the Biltmore.

You might want to just have one thread going for both cities.

The Flower Festival at Biltmore starts April 2. I highly recommend it!

East Bay and 1895 are both nice B&B's in Savannah, GA. Go to Crystal Beer Parlor for fun dining for lunch or dinner. Go to Savannah City Market and visit the neat shops and restaurants there. B Matthews and Belford are both nice casual restaurants.
