Sat eve/Sunday in Minneapolis - suggestions please

I am going to a convention in Minneapolis in early June and am getting there a day early. Any ideas on something interesting I can do on a Sat night/Sunday? I'm staying near the convention center and won't have a car. Also, any recommendations for lunch/dinner near the convention center? Thanks!

Not knowing your interests-a little tough to say. Are you male or female.

In June, it's pretty walkable downtown; although if you're female, I wouldn't do it alone after dark.

Please, more information and where exactly are you staying?

I'm female and wil be staying at a hotel right next to the Convention Center. You are right, I probably won't feel too comfortable walking around alone at night, but I could take a cab back and forth to a show or dinner. Thanks!

Okay. You can check the State or Orpheum Theatres: http://www.hennepintheatredistrict.org/

Orchestra Hall is nearby: http://www.minnesotaorchestra.org/new_home/index.cfm

Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine: www.mspmag.com

Citypages lists events: www.citypages.com

Minnesota Twins

I'll respond again re: restaurants.

If you like theatre, the Guthrie Theatre is wonderful (and an architectural wonder). That shouldn't be too bad of a cab ride from your hotel.
There are a couple good bars near where you'll be staying. There's the Newsroom and The Local on 10th St. and Nicollet Mall.
Two great places for breakfast near your hotel are the Keys Cafe (on 9th St.) and Hell's Kitchen (on 10th St.).
You could also take the light rail to Bloomington, if you're interested in seeing the Mall of America.
And there's the Mill City Museum, if you're interested in learning about Minneapolis history.
Hope this helps!
