San Francisco Airport Crowne Plaza Hotel??

Has anyone been to the Crowne Plaza since they remodeled?? How are the rooms? How about the on-premises restaurant?? Any feedback would be appreciated!

I hate to run down a place but here goes

I did a park and fly out of there in October 02 Just as they changed over. Frankly it was a disaster. We stayed two nights one night before we left and then one when we got back to SFO at 10pm. I will not go back. Room was ok a bit small but it is right on the freeway and you can hear the traffic. Even on the second night when we asked to be placed away from the freeway and were told ok, we were place in a room very close to the freeway side. When we ordered breakfast and there were only 4 or 5 people in there it took over 1/2 hour to be served and they got our order wrong. Then when I tried to pay with a credit card they told me their credit card machine was broke. I gave them a 20 for an 11-dollar bill and they told me they did not have change. Finally on the way down in the elevator they had a fire. I could not get out of there fast enough. I was hoping thing would have improved by the time we got back but it did not. I had stayed at the best western El Rancho several other times it was better but the trains can be a bother. I am trying the Vagabond Inn for a park and fly in Feb 03 and I know it will be better than the Crown Plaza. Be aware this was 3 months ago. Things might have gotten better but I am not betting on it. The rates are cheaper at the Vagabond Inn

Hope this helps

I stayed there a month ago and the parking was almost finished. I liked my concierge room and found the staff to be accomodating. I am not really bothered by noise so I did not really take notice to the highway. I had dinner at the restaurant and yes, it was empty but our food was really good. It convenient and you may be able to get a GREAT rate at this point.
