I only have seven days and need some ideas about this journey. I know my way in Vancouver but never drive nor of SF

The drive between Vancouver BC and San Francisco is 950 miles and requires 15-16 hours behind the wheel.
In case you don't know, San Francisco in July can be surprisingly cool. The average high temperature there is 10 degrees F. lower than the average high in Seattle.

The fast way is I-5 through WA, OR & CA to I-80 into The City. If your 7 days is round trip, the fast route is your best bet. IF you have more time, look at taking US 101 south from Seattle into San Francisco.
Possible stopping points. depending on how far you want to dive in a day...Eugene, Oregon or Yreka, CA for the 1st day on I-5. Coos Bay, Oregon or Crescent City, CA for the US 101 route.
