Philadelphia/September/how many days/ lodging for city center
Looking for lodging recommendations for Philadelphia city center. We would like to keep it in a moderate range, under $140 - $160. I am reading and searching but would appreciate your experiences. How many days do we need to see and enjoy Philadelphia? We have allowed 5 days. Thank you for your time.

An editing comment to my original post: I think four days will be our max. We plan to drive from Philadelphia to Pittsburg. We will want time to explore that area. That will become new post!

I think that 4 days is good. Went for 4 days a few years ago. When we got home I found things that we missed so I went back the next year. I usually plan at least one major site to see each day, sometimes 2 and then a little time for wondering. We went in the fall so there were never any lines. I do not know what September is like.
Both visits we stayed at the Alexander Hotel at 12 & Spruce. I thought it was a great location and in your price range. The rooms are a bit small but very comfortable.

Great ideas, I will look at those hotels. We are looking at four days in Philadelphia proper. History is definitely a focus. Art museums will be good as well. I know that Philadelphia has a lot to offer. We will rent a car from there and drive to Pittsburg. That will give was three days if we want for Gettysburg and Amish country.
