There is no beach in front of the Papakea and there is no beach for several miles to the north of Papakea. If you walk maybe 5 to 10 minutes south along the shore, the shorefront becomes sandy and gets better as you go south. But this is not a real good beach. The closest good beaches are several miles away in Kaanapali, Napili, and Kapalua.

The Beach in front of the Sheraton is Kaanapali Beach. All beaches in Hawaii are public, that is access must be provided for the general public. Parking at Kaanapali Beach is limited. There are a few small areas of public parking but they are usually filled up. The Sheraton has a small free public parking garage. If no free parking is available then there is lots of pay parking a short from the Sheraton at Whaler's Village. The rate is $2 per hour or if you make a purchase at Whaler's Village you get a few hours of free parking.
