Options for Ground Transportation from O'Hare to Round Lake?
Arriving from Munich Friday September 27 at 16:00, I prefer not to rent a car and drop it off in Round Lake while visiting relatives for a few days. What are my altertnatives and what are hte approximate costs for a trip that may be during the rush home on a Friday afternoon?
Someone has suggested taking a cab from the airport. Is that the best option?

Contact American Taxi (www.americantaxi.com). They offer flat-rate trips from ORD to the suburbs. Round Lake would be approximately $56.

Citylights.....Thank you for putting me onto American Taxi.
I just looked up their web site and calculated the trip to Round Lake. It estimates $93. and that is okay. It is preferable to renting a car after arriving from a european destination.

If you're willing to take the train, the Metra North Central Service has a station at O'Hare. It will take you to Round Lake Beach in about fifty minutes for $6.25 one way. Trains stop at O'Hare every 30 minutes, close to the hour and half-hour on weekdays. You can ask the relatives to meet you at the Round Lake station, or take a taxi from there for a lot less than $93.
