Off The Wall, Part 2

Now that we have listed our five favorite musical performers, how about listing our five favorite movies.

Anyone care to share?

This is really hard. They are all so different I can't rank them, so these aren't in any special order:

Body Heat
Like Water for Chocolate
Little Voice
A Clockwork Orange
Tootsie

Here goes:

No. 1: Pulp Fiction. I've seen it more times than any other film other than the Wizard of Oz.

No. 2: Life is Beautiful. How could anyone even think of making a film like this?

No. 3: Raging Bull. Making a good film in black and white is really hard.

No. 4: Schindler's List. Another gutsy film, both because of the use of black and white and the subject matter.

No. 5: A Soldier's Story. Very honest treatment of self-esteem issues among African Americans. Overlooked by Oscar. Too bad.

In the special category of films that actually made me (of all people!) cry, I'll nominate Sophie's Choice, Terms of Endearment, The Joy Luck Club.
