For you NYers who are around this week...I need to get some humorous t-shirts, bumper stickers, pins, etc with political messages for my mom (Democrat) who requested them as a b-day gift. Unfortunately I have only today & tomorrow to shop, and can't order over the internet at this late date. I'd prefer to stay away from MSG...too crazy around there. Can anyone help?

Any little tourist shop and probably every street corner has vendors selling them.

You can find cards at your local card store (if I say the name of that card store, fodors will delete it). But it is a major card store, you know the one you go to...'when you care enough to send the very best'. As I tried to say earlier, I have no idea on the content or quality but they seem to appeal to both D & R's.

NPR was talking about people selling them duing protests. I think a better bet is to do an online search. I would make my first stop movingon.org

I have not seen anything on sale in shops in NYC

The "Today" show sent some folks out to find funny/tacky souvenirs, I missed the segment but maybe someone saw what they found?

Another place to find such stuff is at LGA airport.

Any other ideas? I actually live here so I won't be going to the airport, and probably won't venture into the tourist areas (Times Square) unless absolutely necessary. They are NOT selling them on the street because the huge police presence has forced all the street vendors to disappear (I've noticed).

I know I've seen shops in Chelsea/East Village that MAY sell these type of items...anyone know for sure?
