I've been to New Orleans numerous times but have never done a tour of one of the cemeteries. In a couple of weeks, I'm traveling with former college friends, none of whom have been to New Orleans before. At least one of them wants to go on a cemetery tour. So, which company offers the funnest tour? I don't want any all day tours, we're only going to be there for three nights. Any suggestions appreciated. Jean

We used Historic New Orleans Tours (http://tourneworleans.com/index.htm) for the voodoo and cemetary tours and really enjoyed it. The tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. We're going back this week and I plan to use them again.

Thanks, that's the company I found with an internet search. I also like that reservations aren't required. If we get sidetracked, we won't have to worry about it. Jean

Another recommendation for Historic New Orleans Walking Tours. Our guide was really great - knew her stuff and could tell stories wonderfully. We just showed up at the appointed time, paid our money, and went. The tour took a couple hours.

I have heard good things from friends about Save Our Cemetaries as well, although I've never taken a tour with them.

Yet another vote for Historic New Orleans Walking Tours. I did a lot of research before we went nearly four years ago. That company was consistantly rated the highest for historical accuracy. And we really enjoyed both their cemetery/voodoo tour and their haunted one. I read somewhere (wish I could remember the source, but as I said it was nearly four years ago and I read *a lot* of guidebooks) that while Save Our Cemeteries is a very good organization, Historic New Orleans Walking Tours actually does a better tour.
