napa wineries
i plan to go to napa in a few weeks for a few days. I am mostly a chardonnay person. Does anyone have wineries they would recommend for chardonnay? Or any favorite wineries due to the tour or the facilities? Thanks.

Benzinger, if they have their Yamakawa chard...the tour is fun, that particular wine is usually in short supply/limited production but so nice. Second the notion of Cakebread. Also, check out Duckhorn (another neat place to visit, taste and BUY!!!)

Hmmmm....cm-Benzinger is in Sonoma
County....
Anywho..Rombauer as da Kals suggest
to which I will add Frank Family, St. Supery, Grich and Artesa-Artesa is in the Southwest corner of Napa County in the Carneros region which is where I'd go hunting Chardonnay-more into Sonoma County. The Russian River area in SOnoma COunty
produces great chards as well.

As Kal suggests, Rombauer. Plus Cuvaison (on the Silverado Trail). Try not to miss either Bouchaine or Hyde de Villaine -- both in the Carneros region of Napa -- as they produce some WONDERFUL chards (I drank one from HdV just hours ago...).
