We've stayed at the Maui Marriott twice in the past 2 years. The kids will love the pool! There's a waterslide and a basketball hoop in the pool. It's also in a great location - walking distance to Whaler's Village, and a short drive to Lahaina. Have a great time!

Bill,
Just got back a couple of days ago. Your kids will like the pool. It's not as extravagent as the Hyatt's but, it's definitely designed for fun. There's a sort of a large cave structure that you can swim under, with a waterfall flowing at either end. There are a lot of little nooks and crannies that make the pool fun to explore and play in, yet, it still feels very open and spacious. The landscaping around the pool is full and lush, giving it a nice tropical feel. As for the rest of the resort, it's big and the feel of it is a little bit like an apartment complex rather than a hotel, but it's still fairly nice. I read that the recent renovations focused more on the lobby, pool and timeshare areas. I will agree with that. We stayed in an oceanfront room which was spacious, but the carpet, furnishings, bathroom, etc were really cookie cutter and looked a little worn. But the service was good and we had no problems with the hotel or staff at all. It was a great vacation. Have fun.

Hi,
We stayed there last summer with kids, ages 12, 10 and 5. We all that a great time. Our room was renovated, 2 full beds and a pull out sofa. Great location to walk. However, I must tell you, the beach is terrible. You have to walk to the Sheraton to swim safely. They also messed up our reservation and told us we didn't have a room. After arguing for a while I remember I had my fax confirmation. They had overbooked and left us without a room. We had to spend the first night in another hotel (they paid for it) but I am sure that if I had not show them the fax, we would have spend our vacation someplace else. Very disorganized. Fun hotel. Good luck.
