Marriott or Kaanapali Beach Hotel?
Which would you choose. The pool at the Marriott looks fabulous and with the entire complex going to time share, I may not be able to stay there in the future. Just when I think I have decided...

I stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel a couple of years ago. I did look at the Marriott, however, and the Kaanapali Beach Hotel is about 5 steps below the Marriott. I would choose the Marriott if money is not an object. The only reason to stay at the Kaanapali is budgetary concerns. If you stay at the Kaanapali, don't get your hopes up and expect a cheaper, clean place to stay (although I did hear that someone had to be moved to a different room due to mold) with a nice view of Kaanapali beach and a good location -- but don't expect anything more than that.

Dawn, we stayed at the Marriott in Nov on a special deal they were offering. As I recall you'll be there with kids. If that is so then this hotel will be terrific. Some highlights for families:
1. Great pool with waterfalls and a slide (it's pretty regulated so no going down the slide in a truly fun position ).
2. When we were there the Marriott offered a mug for something $21.00 that can be used for free in their pool cafe during your entire stay. Soda and coffee included.
3. Pool cafe has some pretty decent food like the turkey on foccacia. For kids it's pizza, chicken fingers and other grilled and fried items.
4. Terrific restaurant on site Va Bene. Go on a night they have the luau and eat outside so you can hear it.
5. Just down the walk from Whalers village.
Have a great time!
