Manatee's In Fort Myers Area

Hi, We will be in Fort Myers the 3rd week of March. Is there a place where we could see Manatee's. We are staying at the Edison Beach House in Fort Myers Beach.
Thanks !

The best place to see manatees is to go to the warm water outfall of a power plant when a cold front comes through. That's where the manatees gather to stay warm. This has been good PR for the electric companies, and so many have displays about them and platforms to view them. Here's a link to an article about the Fl. Power & Light Plant in the Ft. Myers area. I've never been there but I'm sure you can give them a call:

If that fails, you can always go year-round to Sea World or to the manatee exhibit at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo.

There is Manatee Park on Rt. 80 out of Ft. Myers along the Caloosahatchee River, and Manatees are usually there during the winter because it is close to the power plant

A few years ago we stayed at a B&B near (on?) Pine Island and could watch manatees in Matlacha Bay from the deck of our room.

Are you driving to Fort Myers? I really enjoyed swimming with the manatees at Crystal River. I don't know if there are similar snorkel tours/ dive shops elsewhere, but it was an amazing experience.
