Las Vegas Happy Hour for 30 or So People, Work Appropriate
I am heading to a conference in Las Vegas and have been tasked with organizing a few happy hours - one on a Sunday evening and another on Monday evening. Does anyone have any suggestions for some good places? My fear is accidentally bringing everyone somewhere sleazy, or, as bad, abandoned and not fun! On Sunday, I'm looking for somewhere dressy casual and on Monday maybe something a bit more business casual. On both occasions, I think we'll be 30 or so people, so I'd prefer somewhere with a relatively lively bar where people can mix standing (as opposed to tables), but that isn't fratty or filled with beer guzzling bachelor parties. We will be staying at a few hotels around the MGM Grand, but would be willing to hop in cabs for the right venue. Thanks for any suggestions!

Have you checked with the more upscale places - such as Bellagio, Wynn, the Venetian, etc? For bringing 30 professional people I think you would be popular.
Bellagio's Hyde overlooks the great fountains and Steve Wynn did another one like that overlooking one of the lakes at the Wynn and also at the adjacent Encore.
What would have been perfect was the Caviar Bar at Bellagio - but it's no longer there.
You could also check Aria et al in the new City Center gigante complex - and they have some upscale bars.
For something fun - and casual - check the craft brew pub at Monte Carlo- across the street from MGM.
You can also go over to the Monte Carlo and catch the tram down to Bellagio, but double check on that. It goes through City Center/Aria if you want to stop there.

Our favorite is Mundo Las Vegas but it's quite a cab ride from the MGM. Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay has a good happy hour but like most I think it's Monday-Friday. There was also a rooftop lounge at Mandalay with a nice view.
I don't think you have to worry too much about fratty or bachelor parties on Sundays and Mondays.

Mandarin Bar is on the 23rd floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. It is upscale and has a fantastic view of the Strip at night. It is open every evening for drinks and tapas. There is jazz on Sundays beginning at 6PM.
