it is reasonable to take Metro to Reagan Airport at 3Pm
On Monday we were planning to take the Metro from Capitol South to Reagan Airport around 3 PM,
Is this a good choice or it might be too crowded? Any advice or recommendation?
....we can always take a taxi but since we only have each a small carry on temptation
to take the Metro is strong. Thank you

You'll be fine. If you board a blue line train at Capitol South you can ride it all the way to the airport. If you get an orange line train, change at L'Enfant Plaza for the yellow line heading to Franconia/Springfield.

Thank you for the imput , we'll leave early on the Blue Line. With all those Federal buildings on the way II was concerned with the rush hour. We 'll have a few more drinks with the taxi fare.
Thanks again

Graziella5b, If you're still checking, rush hour fares start at 3. There's a blue line train leaving Capitol South at 2:55 pm.
>>One round at a bargain happy hour, as taxi fare should be less than $20 after tip

I'd switch to the yellow line no matter what train you get at Cap South. The yellow line will cut 10-15 minutes from your journey, even with the connection, because it's more direct.
Plus, the Yellow Line has a nice view of the Jefferson Memorial as you cross the Potomac on the way out.

If you wish to know, we took the Blue, at 2.55 , frankly I had no idea the taxi fare whould have been so inexpensive, I thought it would be at least $50...
One thing I hated during this stay was that most taxi drivers talked all the time, non stop at their cells, ...I thought that is not even safe ,also some tried to shortchange me etc. in summary taxing taxis was kind of unpleasant....
but I agree the savings was very little ,next trip I might consider a taxi.
