Is E. Jones St. in Savannah a safe area?
I'm planning a trip to Savannah and found a house rental at 502 E. Jones St. Is this area safe? The street level pictures on Google Maps made the area look a little sketchy. I know that this is in the historic district and that there are million dollar homes just down the street. But I live in Charleston, so I know how these "historic" areas can be. This home is located at E. Jones at the intersection of Price St. Any thought would be appreciated.

The potential trouble would come from the lower income areas along Wheaton Street. There is a barrier of fences, buildings and parks between this area and East Broad. I would not be concerned if the price is right. If you look at Google maps, satellite, it is more apparent. It pays to be vigilant anywhere in an urban environment, especially at night.

Another factor for consideration is that the location is on or near the corner of a one-way St., Price. It is far enough north that traffic is not as heavy as it can get further south. Night traffic would not be a noise factor.

Thanks for your feedback.
Special thanks to Starrs for doing a drive-by.
I did end up going with a different place right on Forsythe Park.
It's really cool to be able to ask such a specific question and get responses that quick.
Thanks again!
