Info About Maine???
I am trying to plan a Amtrac Get-Away to Maine and I am torn between Cape-Cod or Martha's Vineyard. Also should I take a train (they have three stations in Boston, not sure which one to go to.) to Boston and drive to either location?? Thanks Joey in Chicago. Thanks so much.

Joey,
The names of the two train stations that I'm familar with in Boston are South Station and the other referred to as either Route 128 or Dedham. South Station is downtown Boston and if you planned on visiting the city it would be the right choice. The Route 128/Dedham station is south of the city on Route 95/128 and if you were planning on driving would be a better choice. Although I'm not sure about getting a car rental there, maybe you'd have to stop in Boston to get the car and then drive to the cape or the vineyard. You need ferry reservations to take a car to Marthas Vineyard. I think you can get more info at mvy.com.
I think there is also a Back Bay station and that is also downtown Boston. Most people do not recommend driving in Boston - the streets are narrow, lots of traffic, poor signs etc. I've lived in the burbs all my life and avoid driving in town whenever it's possible to go any other way.
Enjoy your get away.
