I don't know about the movies, but I have been afraid to go to the IMAX theatre here in Omaha, because I am prone to Motion Sickness.

Years ago, I went to a similar theatre in Cedar Point amusement park and watched a film on a giant screen. The film was about the Grand Canyon and I did get ill watching it.

I have motion sickness "issues" and have a hard time tolerating IMAX movies. I have been told that if you sit in the middle of the theater you will be better off but I have yet tried that. Good luck!

I'm no fan of Las Vegas, but with all there is to do for those who enjoy those kinds of things, why would you go there and spend time in an Imax theater?

Hi ami
so would you rather sit in a smokey casino?
We enjoy Disney type rides, that's all.
This is a weird forum. 5 replies 2 critical of my question.
what we are looking to accomplish is, to check out the major hotels, and have fun with the best attractions they have to offer.
thanks to cat < love cats), jen and ss.
anymore constructive tips welcomed.

I haven't seen any of the shows mentioned, but if one of them is a 3D show I would go with that one - it's quite an experience.

Ray, my point is: There are so many wonderful things to see in this country....and a lot of them are all around Las Vegas. Just drive in any direction to see and be immerssed in some of our nation's (hell, our world's) most magnificent natural scenery.
I'll agree with you that going to an Imax show is preferable to sitting in a smoky casino. But, there are a lot more exciting things to do on a vacation than going to a half-hour Imax show!

ray:I have not been to the IMAX at Luxor.
I went to the IMAX 3D theater in Ceasar's called Race for Atlantis (?).

I am not a ride person at all. I enjoyed this. It took about 25 minutes. Was well air conditioned I was glad about that as we had to wear these helmet type things for the 3D effect. Hope this helps a bit.

Although I haven't seen those particular shows, I loved most of the others that I have seen. I also get motion sickness, but unlike when you are actually moving, with the movie all you have to do is close your eyes and it stops the feeling. Any of the ones that I have seen, just as it gets to the point where I'm starting to get a little queasy, they switch to another scene.

Sitting down in an air conditioned theater can be a very welcomed break from walking forever in the heat from hotel to hotel on the strip. There is only so much ventrilloquism and magic one can handle in a single vacation.

I haven't seen any of them, but Ultimate X and Space Station are much higher rated than Haunted Castle. I'd really like to see Ultimate X but it really depends on what you're into. As for length, the run times are as follows:

Ult X: 47 min
Space: 46
Haunted: 38

I've been to the IMAX theatres a couple of times before and absolutely loved it! I have found though that sitting in the middle, you won't get that feeling of motion sickness. If you sit in the very back, you will feel it a lot more. If you sit in the front, you will get a huge crick in your neck. The prices are a little steep for such a short film but most everyone loves them!

I am just back from the Luxor. We tried to get tickets for one of the shows and it was sold old (don't remember which one), so went to the haunted house one instead. I believe it was $8 or $9 for a 45 minute show. The content was dumb, but the technology was amazing and worth the price. I'm not a ride person and was bothered a couple of times by all the movement. But, I closed my eyes and was fine.

You didn't ask, but we had a car and went out to Red Rock Canyon--it was far more amazing than any entertainment we saw on the strip.
