PushyPlushy wins only if he doesn't throw away the Jeff Gordon man made fiber capri pants.

I am using a paper Kalik Beer coaster I stole from some bar in the Abacos. Three years ago.

This is a fun thread!

My Saturday night: eating icing directly from the can-YUM! Hahah!

So the ice cream place was closed because their freezer broke. I had to walk down to the liquor store and by a popsicle (I was determined by then). I think I walked almost 2 miles for a lime flavored popsicle tonight.

This is great! Sounds like a new weekly thread has started: Fodor's version of SNL - Saturday Night Losers.

The dishes are piled high in the sink, the shirts all need ironing. Who cares. I'm a real loser tonight. LOL!

Ooh, new drink idea!

Lime flavored popsicle dipped in votka!

(How do you pass by the liquor for a popsicle? Alien thought to me....)

Because I was drinking plenty earlier today during the Italy vs US and I have a well stocked bar at home, but I had no ice cream, that is what I really wanted.

However, I will have to remember that concoction, a vodka/lime popsicle sounds intriguing indeed.

I am probably the biggest loser now! I have been making witty comments and extremely interesting narrations over at the Degas party all night. BUT while ago I was so busy waiting, that I forgot to hit the refresh button in order to see if the latest installment was there. I continued to whine for Degas to come back. I finally hit the refresh button but the comments had already pushed the latest installment up off the page, so I thought we were all still waiting. Still, I employed all my womanly wiles to beg him to come back. Finally I reread gracieb's question about whether or not my breasts were still heaving, and I knew either the alcohol had really gotten to both of us, or I had definitely missed something.

Sure enough, there right under the latest highly anticipated installment was my post begging Degas to come back before my snoring began to wake the kids.

Yep, I think I'm the biggest loser . . .who else goes from tempting femme fatale to a whining, drowsy old whino in the same evening?!

I took my 14 yr. old son to the movies....Nacho Libre with Jack Black. God, it was so stupid. Then we came home, I poured some wine, plopped my butt in a chair on my front porch, unbuttoned my shorts cuz they're too tight, and logged on to my laptop. My neighbor asked me to go to Niagara Falls to the casino, but I'm broke from going to the movies. So here I am. I am totally pathetic.

My hubby bartends on Sat. nights, so I must find a way to entertain myself. I live on a side street that crosses a trendy neighborhood strip that has all types of restaurants, bistros, and bars. I'm watching people walk past my house (they all park on the side streets) dressed for a night out. Sigh.

Oh, and GoT.....Don Johnson was SMOKIN' HOT back in the day. He could definitely eat crackers.....if you know what I mean!

Tonight it's me, the cat, one Guiness, two Corona's w/lemon (not a lime in sight), a bag of Masterpiece BBQ potato chips, the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency show and a partridge in a pear tree. How "L" is that?!?

How ironic, this talk of rum...my husband just had dessert...lime sorbet with rum added to it. To keep this travel related, he first had this in Paris and got hooked on it.

Beautiful day here in Portland. For some stupid reason, I did not tell the gardener yesterday to trim a few trees/bushes, so did it myself today. Thankfully, DH grilled dinner and I was able to relax and ease the achy back. He and DS are watching a movie that does not interest me...so that's why I'm here

Okay, a little game before bedtime.

If you could do a little magic, or wiggle your nose like Samantha, and spend the next 30 minutes anywhere you wanted (instead of where you are right now), where would you be.

I think I'd be sipping a drink at a rooftop bar at my hotel in Cannes, enjoying the warm night air and reliving the days' adventures on the French Riveria.

What about you?

BuffaloGirl, you ain't lying talking about Mr. Don Johnson in the 1980s! He just makes me melt looking at him! And why oh why didn't I hang out in The Grove in the day? I had good friends living on a 60 foot Hatteras right down from DJ's boat going to school at Miami then!

(An intersting piece of trivia about my life; I'm going to be a groomsman/person/woman in the above friend's wedding and wear a tux!!)

I just bought The Buena Vista Social Club.

gracie, I'd be in Miami in 1985 on Don Johnson's boat!

Well obviously dear gracieb, I would be at a wonderful outdoor cafe on a beautiful piazza in Rome having a drink!

Oooops, right now..that would be 5:15 in the morning in Rome. So that wouldn't work, LOL.

Ok, I have to rethink all of this.

I'd be at Heathrow, instantly. I'd give just about anything to avoid flying. Nite, everyone~

What is this, an LL meeting?? (That stands for Languishing Losers) OK, I'll join this support group.

Hello, my name is P_M and I am a Loser.

<Everyone says gleefully "Hi, P_M!!">

Here's why I am a loser. DH and I have just returned from the movies, which is what we typically do on a Saturday night. Once we were home, he went into the bedroom to watch TV, while I am sitting in the living room Fodorizing. In the background I can hear my TV, as I am listening to the British comedies on PBS. The sad thing is that this same scenario repeats itself every Saturday night.

I still remember the days of going out clubbing on weekends. We drank and danced until we heard that familiar phrase, "Last call for alcohol," which happens at 2am here in TX. Then we would go to Denny's or IHOP for breakfast, getting home at 3ish. Ahhh, those were the days. <sigh>

But I can't complain, I still have a social life, but it's mostly with people I've never met in person. Of course, I'm speaking of YOU, my cyber pals!! So thanks for spending this Saturday evening in my company.

Oh, we can change the date and the time? Then that is easy. It would be the 1970's and I would be at a wonderful outdoor cafe in a beautiful piazza in Rome having a drink!!

GoT!

Get good measurements by the tux rental shop. One of my most photogenic evenings was at an event in Wash, DC where we all were to wear tuxedos - men and women alike. My local shop did a great job measuring me and my tux fit great! All the other women had varied problems with fit. Talk about a comfortable evening!

gracieb, we must have been posting at the same time. Hmmm, I think I would spend the next 30 minutes in Paris, just walking along the Seine and taking it all in. Either that or I would pop in to visit my favorite Fodorites, some of which are on this very thread!!
