Hyatt or Crowne Plaza in Columbus, Ohio

Does anyone have any good info on these two hotels? Both are downtown and supposedy nice -- which is nicer? For indoor pools, restaurants, kid-friendly or not etc. ANY and ALL info appreciated! Thanks all!

My sister stayed in the Hyatt last year, and it is in desperate need of updating and renovations. The carpets were getting threadbare in spots, etc. The pool is very small. The Crowne Plaza is a newer hotel and IMO, much nicer.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt, and it has been recently upgraded. Very nice rooms and the indoor pool was great for the kids. We used to stay at the Crowne Plaza but my daughter got food poisoning from the kids menu.

The Hyatt we're interested is in Convention Square, near the Crowne Plaza. Any additional info appreciated! Anyone know anything about parking for either hotel?

We have stayed at both in the last calendar year. I thought the Crown Plaza was nicer. We took both our children when we stayed at the Hyatt. I felt the Hyatt did not have many child centered areas. I think maybe they were still working on areas in the Hotel so that may have jaded my opinion. The pool was okay for the kids. It had a pretty deep shallow end, take floatees or noodles if the children are small. We were traveling with a 8 month old and a 4 year old. The room was just okay too. When staying at the Crown we were attneding a wedding so the children were not with us. Sorry I don't have quite as much information. The food was WONDERFUL at the Crown. They are both very centally located, actually right across the street from one another. I hope I was able to help.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza last fall and I would have to say either place is fine. The pools in both hotels are very small. The Hyatt seemed to have a few extras as far as eating but the CP had a great coffee/snack bar. Both are located perfectly easy access to restaurants and shopping. As far as kid friendly - they really don't cater to kids b/c of the convention center they seem to be more business oriented , in my opinion. Have Fun!!
