How to get to First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre from downtown Chicago?
I am going to a concert this summer on a Sunday night and it doesn't look like there are any trains that go directly to the amphitheater from Chicago and they don't run late enough on Sunday anyways. Does anyone have any advice on how to get there without a car? I am assuming a taxi would be pretty expensive. Do they run any extra buses or anything during concerts? Any help is appreciated!

The pace bus doesn't seem to go anywhere near. Don't know of a shuttle... but it's pretty far from city. Rental car seems best bet, unfortunately. I went years ago in a car and felt like is was out in (dark) nature for a time, so bring your patience in getting car out of the lot and finding your way back home.
Hopefully there's a shuttle... only sure way to find out is to call the venue. Good luck!

I don't know that I'd even tell someone I didn't like to wait for a train at the 95th Street Red Line station at 11 pm or midnight. However, that won't work either as the Red Line will not run south of Roosevelt from May 19 through November due to the Red Line Reconstruction project.
I second the idea of a rental car for the day.

http://firstmidwestbankamphitheatre.rockandbus.com/ This is a charter bus that is $45 for the roundtrip from Union Station in Chicago if you purchase far enough in advance. As I roll my eyes and sigh about people warning you against the 95th and the Dan Ryan station. There is a police station right onsite, and plenty of foot police are patrolling it 24 hours a day. Plus, I prefer the free shuttle buses to the red line when it is operational. The travel times have been drastically reduced...
