Interesting to see what I posted back in 05! Since then I have added a few more states, making my total 41. I have also added more countries, making my total 23.

I still prefer overseas travel when I have the chance, although there are a number of states I still want to visit. As I'm 29 I guess I still have some time... ;)

I've been to 34 states, including Hawaii and Alaska. When I was little, the only vacations we could do were driving ones since we are a family of 9. That was a great way to check the entire Eastern seaboard off the list!

I've been to 5 of the 7 continents... missing S. America and Antarctica which I even hope to get to someday!

I live in the south of England and have visited 27 states, which I reckon is pretty good going! So far my favourite state has to be Alaska where we spent three wonderful weeks last summer. There are numerous other individual highlights of our American trips over the years, but we still have plenty of places left to explore!

All 50 states that I've at least got out of a vehicle and set foot in. S.C. was my last and that took me 10 years from #49...plus 30 different countries or overseas territories.

I have slept 1 or more nights in each and there are several multiple times among them. Alaska was my last of the 50 states to visit. And I have already been back. Hawaii, well ...... I have been to 1 island or 2 EVERY YEAR except 1 year (1985, when I bought my condo) since 1980 (hmmmm, that's 26 times, whoa!) And I just made reservations for a lovely week on Maui in September :)

I lack northern New England and Hawaii. I'll have all 50 in two trips. New England this summer--Hawaii next summer. Huge bucket list wish.

My count is at 30 plus DC.

My partner has a database that keeps us honest and I have flown through Minnesota 5 times, but our definition of visiting a state includes "an activity" (meal, rent a car, visit something).

I've also lived in 5 different states, love that collection of license plates for the car.

Almost all of them including Alaska and Hawaii, missed a couple in New England. I'd go to Alaska if I were the OP.

48, only missing New Jersey and Hawaii. Was on a tour bus in Philadelphia and looked across at NJ. Last summer we drove hours out of our way to hit North Dakota on our way to Yellowstone. Visited the Roger Maris museum in Fargo.

Visited (as in spent time seeing and doing things) in 42 of them.
Not visited - the Dakotas, Minnesota (just landed at the airport on Christmas Day) and Wisconsin.

I've driven through some of those, but that doesn't count for me.
I've spent a lot of time in most of the rest - either thanks to road trips and/or excursions after business meetings. Twice to Alaska (both times in winter) and several Hawaiian islands.
Now it's time to do more of Europe :-)

let's see, states I've actually lived long-term: California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Washington. I frequently visit Oregon and Hawaii.

I've done road trips along the east coast & cross-country, but honestly I couldn't tell you exactly which states... I didn't really "visit" them more of a "drive by".

Quite honestly and with no offense to the good folks who live in them, there are simply a lot of states that I'm not all that interested in, to make the effort to get there. I'd rather travel outside the U.S. instead.

Although I am fond of that drive-around-in-an-RV thing that some retired folks do, so maybe someday!!
