Hi

I will be in Chicago for a friends wedding, could anyone recommend a Steakhouse, I've never been to the city before and heard it's really good for the Steak (true or not?). Cost around $50-$100 per head. I'll be travelling from the UK so I really would like to give them a good send off.

Thanks LFC.

I'd recommend Gibsons but suspect others may disagree

Gibsons, ditto. It is the only restaurant I have ever been to outside France where they told us we were ordering too much food, though it would cost them money if we ordered less. Integrity reflected in the quality of the food. We followed their advice, had a delicious meal, and resolved to return as often as possible.

And consider having that "turtle pie" or whatever that "death by chocolate" dessert is they serve...if they still have it. It makes the delicious steaks seem like diet food in comparison.

BTW...MAKE RESERVATIONS EARLY!!!!!!!!

Yum...I was at Gibson's for a rehearsal dinner this summer. It really is my favorite restaurant in Chicago. They do a fabulous job with service, and the atmosphere is great.

I vote for Gibsons. I grew up on a cattle ranch, but rarely order steaks or any beef in restaurants simply because it never compares to what I had at home. Was in Chicago this past summer for a meeting with a planned dinner at Gibsons. Reluctantly order a steak --- Wow !!! was it good. In fact, very close to the best steak ever.
