Help with Accomodations

Does anyone know about the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale. I also need recommendations for a nice hotel or resort neat Tempe. We are going to the Arizona State University to tour.

Scottsdale Plaza is a very nice golf resort, they've had some good rates on their website lately but that might just be for weeknights, not weekends.

Fiesta Inn is a nice hotel in Tempe, not quite as nice as it appears on the website, but located very close to ASU.

Thank you very much for your reply. I ended up getting the Scottsdale Plaza on priceline for half the listed price.
I was just afraid that it might not be as nice.
We are wide open as far as accomodations either in the Tucson area of Phoenix on a Friday night. We might even just take our chances and stop wherever. Are there any other places that you would reccommend???
Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!

Have heard good things about Westward Look Resort in Tucson as well as the Loew's Ventana Canyon.

susanbann-
Have you been to the Scottsdale Plaza yet? I was also linking of bidding on PL, but it looks as though this is the hotel that comes up most often in the zone & the reviews aren't very favorable. Just looking for another opinion??

If you are shopping on PL, one can assume that you are looking for a bargain - and the Plaza Resort certainly would fit into that description. It's an older property (by Scottsdale standards) and showing it's age a bit. Not dirty, just well used, but the grounds are gorgeous, service is fine and it's got a great piano bar. Best of all, it's location is terrific. If you are looking for top of the range in Scottsdale resorts, this ain't it -- but it's also gonna cost you several hundred less a night. I live in Phoenix and stayed there just this summer for one night - very enjoyable.
