Have you gone on a Helicopter ride in Maui???
I am heading towards Maui, and I was wanting to do a helicoptor ride. I was wondering if there are any companies that are better than others? I have been
considering two which are Sunshine and Blue Hawaiian. Any help would be appreciated.

We went on a Sunshine Helicopter ride around the whole island when honeymooning there last Jan. My husband loved it, I got a little nauseated... I couldn't handle the "yaw" I think it is called--when the helicopter would tip or wiggle and I couldn't find the horizon.
So I spent part of the ride with my eyes closed. Also, there was alot of VOG (volcanic fog) when we were there due to Kiluea's activity and smaller trade winds due to El Nino. So everything was kind of hazy and our pics didn't come out so great.
All in all, I could have skipped this event, but my husband, who loves all flying craft, had a blast.
Just our experience.

We went last month with AlexAir. It was a great trip and I have only positive things to say about Alex. I would add that it appeared to me that all of the operators were very professional and careful. The trip around Maui was spectacular. People say other Islands are better, but don't let that dissuade you from your trip. I often get motion sick, but did not have any trouble with the chopper. Have fun! It's a blast.

We took Blue Hawaiian and they were great. We took the helicopter from the Maui airport that toured the island (crater and waterfalls) that ends in Hana then took the guided tour/van back. It was great and well worth the money. We are going back this January and will probably do it again -- although on the Big Island this time. Have fun!!!
