Rant: I still had to come to work

Rave: We're moving to a house!! I can't wait to get out of our shoebox and spread out in a house!
Rant: We going to be out by the end of the month so we're packing in the midst of Christmas shopping, wrapping, baking, etc. Aaccck!

Rave: My office just moved.
Rave: My cubicle is in front of 3 fabulous windows!
Rant: If I hear one more person b!#ch about how great my space is I'm going to throw some fists! It's amazing how petty grown adults can be sometimes!

Happy Weekend everyone!

No Rants - except we need to mesh together our two FFR&R threads. I know, I know, not possible.

Rave: Family is healthy and wise. The wealthy part is only in spirit!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all.

Rant: My husband must have gone Christmas tree shopping with Clark Griswold. I asked for a skinny tree and ended up with the biggest one on the lot!

Rave: It's a really nice tree. And it smells so good!!!!!

Rant: My brother's flight was very late last night. I picked him up at the airport at 11:15 p.m. and by the time I dropped him off at my mother's house and got home and it was late. I could hardly get out of bed this morning!

Rave: My brother is home for a few days. He can do some running around for my parents so I don't have to!

Rant: We're going to get 14 inches of snow by tomorrow! The only reason I'm OK with it is cuz it's Christmas time. If this happens after Jan. 1st I will be miserable.

Rave: My nephew arrives tonight. I hope the weather doesn't delay his flight! I can't wait to see him.

Rant: My brother and nephew are visiting. That means pizza, chicken wings, and Italian food all weekend.

Rave: Pizza, chicken wings, and Italian food all weekend!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Rave: Great weather continues, but no rain until June.

Rave: Adopted a rescued street dog: he is smart, housetrained, and sleeps through the night. Loves rough house play with the American Eskimo SO adopted in 2000, but needs to be neutered.

Rant: Coordinating FM 3 Visa renewal and getting visas for Brazil and China by "mail" from Central Mexico.

Rave: Scarlett/Pup and Kal's Christmas greetings.

Feliz fin de semana.

Rave - None of my friends fell and broke their bones this week.

Rave - Christmas shopping is almost done.

Rave - we did a good deed. My husband, daughter and I shoveled out our friends driveway last Friday in the dark so she wouldn't see us. She broke her wrist so she couldn't do it. We had the most fun trying to be quiet but sometimes the giggles got the best of us.

Rave - A coworker's daughter was accepted to a prestigious program on government for high school kids but she couldn't afford to go. Office quietly took up a collection and raised more than enough! The money will be given to our co-worker as a Secret Santa gift today. Same girl just found out yesterday that she got accepted to her first choice college on early admissions. My co-worker is a single mom and we've watched her struggle to raise her daughter and are very happy to see her succeeding.

Rave - Same coworkers still supported very generously the annual program to assist a shelter for homeless families. Office was filled with toys, clothes, and other household goods to help a family get on their feet.

Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukuh, Happy Kwanza.

Prayers for all those in need.

Rave:
Wednesday, while wearing my USS Trathen ballcap, I was looking through a clothing rack in a local store when a young man on the other side of it said to me "thankyou for your service"
I was in awe, said thankyou, and felt as proud then as I did more than fifty years ago when I was on board that destroyer.

Rant:
The ice storm on top of the snow wasn't as bad as predicted in the valley, but the ice is just thick enough that I can't use the snowblower.

Rave It's raining, not snowing, after our freak "thundersnow "last Friday.

I'm finished shopping. Grandchildren have helped trim the tree,it looks beautiful!

Nutcracker ballet with the little girl this weekend. She can't wait.

Rant: A miserable cold, kept me home from the office this a.m., but won't keep me from a friends party tonight, or a dinner party at our house tomorrow!

Mikemo,I am so tempted to go to the local ASPCA since we lost our Portugese Water Dog last year. Miss him terribly, though he did put a crimp in our travels!

Have a wonderful Holiday, all.

I was shoveling snow in the dark this morning, came in to post then went back out to shovel. I'll post earlier next week.

another rant: On The Apprentice last night they showed a task in which one team organized a chairity event for a pedeatric AIDS foundation. The event was for Yahoo and its business clients and advertisers. Yahoo didn't want anyone to be asked for contributions at the event so there were special envelopes placed in everyone's take-home gift bag. There were about 150 bussiness leaders at the fund raiser and since the three or four months it was taped not One dollar was donated and sent in. Millions of people were watching the taped portion live last night at Lincoln Center and I would bet there were a few bussiness people hanging there heads low. I wish they would have listed all the companies so we could let them know how low that was.

Greetings all my FFR&R'ers ~

Cmcfong ~ Hope that Bermuda sunshine felt splendid!

CAPH ~ How good indeed it must be to have your girl home!

Ethel ~ Sweetie, congrats on your house! How are those wedding plans coming along? And yes, some grown ups never seem to move beyond 15, poor souls. Drive carefully on your way home, k?

Bennnie ~ I love your Rave, and I love the fact that all of you did that for this young girl. What a blessing people like you are, I wish I could be there to see her receive her it.

Congrats MikeMo, from Soph((&))and I!

Rave ~ Seeing my little Sophie out playing in the snow, she loves it so. She is all black and when she comes in with her little face filled with snow cause she loves to 'dip' her face, she
is just about the cutiest thing this side of the Mississippi!

Rave ~ My husband.

Rave ~ FFR&R

No rants.

...Hugs to all.

...Happy and safe wishes for those with loved ones traveling to them.

...Many blessings for anyone with illness, or anyone alone.

rave: to Mikemo (never thought I'd say that !) for rescuing a dog.

Capecodshanty, maybe it's time for a new dog for you -- even if you leave the dog for traveling once in awhile, he/she will still be grateful for you!!!

He's quite a change from the retired rescued greyhounds, but is named Senna after one of my favs (and Aryton Senna - a great F 1 racer).
Btw, retired racing GHs are wonderful animals requiring very little. Younger males are especially good with little children.
