Jorr, I watched 30 days on Wed. Great show. Just wished the guy had made more of an effort to fit in. Intolerance is so intolerable.

Rave: Have been enjoying "Hit me baby one more time" show with amusing one hit wonder acts from the '70's & '80's.
Aah...mindless summer television. Patiently waiting for the return of "Nip-Tuck" this fall too.

Rave: Got 8 boxes of free slate tiles for my foyer fountain project from a friend! Working on the rest of the design now...

Rave: Driving up to Limerock race track in CT tomorrow for World-Speed Challenge GT races with Volvos! Get to visit the "pits", meet the drivers & check out the cars up close too.

Rave: After thunderstorms (with hail?!) pass through this afternoon, we will have a fantastic weather weekend here in NJ! ((#))

Margot55, my thoughts are with you. Pets bring so much to our lives. It's never easy to say goodbye. I've been there.

Margot--I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. I'm afraid that soon I may have to go through that inevitable pain. My 4 yr. old cat, Hector, has congestive heart failure, and while medication helps some, I know it's only a matter of time. I get so sad to think about what it will be like without him (I'm tearing up right now), but it pushes me to make sure that I treat him extra special every day. We just have to think that this was their destiny and we were fortunate enough to be the ones to spend their lives with them.

So, I'll start with a rant: leaving Hector for a few days and will worry about him the whole time

Rave: just like most others have said, after some predicted strong storms this afternoon the weekend should be gorgeous. Tomorrow supposed to be in the 70's which is a lot cooler than it has been which means, hopefully, much less humid.

Rant: No July 4th holiday here on the island. :(

Rant: DH's daughter only has ten more days left with us. The last three weeks have flown by.

Rave: Beautiful weather and balmy breezes.

Rave: Teaching a 15-year old to drive a stick shift. Quite fun. :D

Rave: Heading for St. Maarten next Friday for a long weekend of fun, sun, boating, snorkeling and horseback riding on the beach.

Major rant: Sandra Day O'Connor is retiring! What a confirmation fight this will be!!

Rant- Brought to tears by Margot's post. We lost our precious little Crawdad just after Christmas, and I still think I hear him in the house. We have lost several wonderful dogs over the years, and it's so hard.

Rant- P_M's mother's accident. I hope she makes a speedy recovery.

Rave- Our quiet holiday weekend has become just the opposite, since both children and families have all decided to come down. We will enjoy the camphouse and "riverbanking," and help our grandson learn to waterski.

Rave-All three grand-puppies will be here, too, and we'll give them expra pets in memory of Willie.

jorr - Do you live in Minnesota? I read today that the govt has shut down for the holiday weekend because the leg didn't pass a temporary spending bill. And I thought that Western, NY had fiscal problems!

margot - So sorry for your loss. My husband had to put our Springer Spaniel to sleep last year because of cancer... Pets our truly family members.

Rave - Off to Toronto next Tue for three nights.

Rant - My broken collarbone is still not healing... And it's been 8 weeks!

Rave: Seeing friends on Saturday that we haven't seen in almost a year.

Rave: Comfortable relationships that pick up right where they left off!

Rave: Daughter's room is almost done being painted.

Rant: We've been in the process of painting her room for almost a month now (and it's only about 10'x10').

Rant: Justice O'Connor resigning from the Supreme Court which will lead to a war over her swing vote, especially if some of the people I suspect will be nominated.

Rave: Good weather here and a nice breeze.

Rant: Can't go on a vacation for a while.

Rant: Damn right emminent domain is not what our founders would have supported. Further proof that the Supreme court does not judge based on the constitution but politics and special interest groups.
