Figured I'd better get on it before Friday is no longer:

4 weeks left.

I've got several rants but after reading all of yours they are extremely minor.
Congrats to weddings and anniversaries and travel (JEALOUS)!

gomiki Sep 22nd, 2006 03:22 PM

Ani: a new baby for the holidays! What fun. Hang in there. The time will fly by :)

P_M Sep 22nd, 2006 03:43 PM

I will check back with everyone later, but for now I have a MAJOR announcement to make.

<pretend I'm speaking into a bullhorn>

YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE. WE INTERRUPT THIS R&R FOR A SPECIAL NEWS BULLETIN:

RAVE: DH is no longer on layoff notice. The new owner of the company has decided to keep 8 employees, and DH is one of them!! WOOHOO!! \:D/ YEEEEHAAAWWWW <):) YIPPEE COYOTE!!!! 8-)

Rave: Glad we didn't cancel the Hawaii trip!! ALOHA, y'all. :-D

Ever since the announcement of layoffs, most people in DH's office have been slacking off, if they show up at all. But DH says that's against his grain, and as long as he's collecting a paycheck, he will put in a full day's work. They told him today that his efforts didn't go unnoticed, that's why they are keeping him.

Still dancing.... \:D/

Gotta run for now, but I'll check back later and catch up with everyone else.

Thanks for all of your support during these last few weeks when we thought DH was facing unemployemnt. A thousand hugs to all. >:D<

This concludes this special news bulletin, we now return you to your regularly scheduled R&R. :B

FainaAgain Sep 22nd, 2006 03:48 PM

CONGRATULATIONS, P-M!! I'll dring to it tonight.

RANT: where is Statia? No more "poison" threads? :(

Fodorite018 Sep 22nd, 2006 03:49 PM

PM--That is FANTASTIC news!!!! So glad his work ethic was noticed:)

AnnMarie_C Sep 22nd, 2006 03:50 PM

P_M, woo hoooooooooooooooooooo! That is fantastic news, congratulations to your DH! Perfect timing, you can celebrate in Hawaii!!

Lee Ann, I've been watching the temps slowly dip in Santa Fe--I can't wait, we'll be there in 11 days...and counting! ;-)

Shout out to kopp! :-D

ElendilPickle Sep 22nd, 2006 03:54 PM

Whooo hooo, P_M! That's wonderful news!

Lee Ann

gomiki Sep 22nd, 2006 04:00 PM

P_M: Wow..what a reason to celebrate in HI!! And RIGHT NOW!!

Farina: I think I remember reading something from Statia saying that she had a lot of traveling to do (work related) and wouldn't be around much for a while.

jorr Sep 22nd, 2006 05:22 PM

PM, congrats to your DH. He's a very smart man. He did exactly what a smart person should have done.

Many years ago I worked without pay for a few weeks because of a hiring dispute and it payed off with a job which catapolted me to a position which landed me to where I am now. It was a great ride.

jetset1 Sep 22nd, 2006 05:47 PM

Jorr~ your three clues, catepulted, landed and ride.. are you in the circus, a cannon flier or an astronaut;)

CAPH52 Sep 22nd, 2006 09:20 PM

What fantastic news, P_M! And how refreshing to actually see the honest, hard-working employee rewarded for a change! Just this AM my DH and I were having a conversation about how often it seems to be the guy who spends all of his time kissing up rather than working who gets ahead. Your husband's good fortune is restoring my faith in humanity!

What a tremendous relief this has to be for you both! Congratulations!

And have a wonderful trip! :)

OneWanderingJew Sep 23rd, 2006 12:35 AM

That's my Starrsy with the right 'tude! I need to take lessons from ya :)

And I'm doing the happy dance for Mr. PM and PM, doo dah. I'm doing the happy dance for them all doo-dah day! Can you see me making a fool of myself in public for you, PM?? \:D/

It's 4.30am so I am flipping delirious so I can't remember most of the other rants and raves to do a thorough job at shout outs so can I get away with a blanket one--hugs to all, for good reasons and sad reasons!!

My own very selfish rant: we are no closer to adopting than we were when we first started this process and are losing hope....anyone have any extra prayers for us?! And if anyone knows of a woman considering making an adoption plan, please let us know onewanderingjew at hotmail dot com

OneWanderingJew Sep 23rd, 2006 12:38 AM

OMG did anyone notice that run on sentence I wrote. egads! It looks like something my students would write. Are they rubbing off on me? I thought it was supposed to be me rubbing off on them! Apologies.

I think I'll slink off now :D

cmcfong Sep 23rd, 2006 04:08 AM

Here you go, OWJ, lots of extra prayers!

Congratualtions PM. Aren't you glad to be headed to Hawaii where you can properly celebrate the good news!

Rave on!

seetheworld Sep 23rd, 2006 04:31 AM

OWJ, hope sometimes seems so elusive. Do not give up hope! Of course I will pray for you and your DH. Sending you a BIG, warm hug. ((l))

seetheworld Sep 23rd, 2006 04:35 AM

PM! What wonderful news for you and your DH!! :D I am so relieved for you both!

Aloha! :) Have a spectacular trip!

AnnMarie_C Sep 23rd, 2006 04:49 AM

owj, "anyone have any extra prayers for us?!" Always! [-o<

Run on sentence?!? That's nothing. Honey, if ever you tire of grading your students papers you could grade my posts. ;-)

kopp Sep 23rd, 2006 05:21 AM

Dear Sweet P_M,

I can't believe I missed this WONDERFUL news! I go out for one night and miss all the excitement!

I'll be singing, "Oh Happy Day" all day for you now! ((8)) ((8)) ((8))

I can only imagine your and your DH's nightmares of the past few weeks were replaced with dreams of swaying palm trees and volcanoes. I'm blowing you kisses ((K)) that your trip to paradise is all you could imagine! ((R))

Rant: Unfortunate medical news.

Rant: Political contributions by the medical profession pale in comparison to those made by the legal folks. They are simply made to different segments of the political spectrum.
You should check MC and "managed care" reimbursements, and, after office expenses, see if you could support your own lifestyle with those (well, maybe if you worked 24/7).

Rant: That is and always has been "the system" for dealing with elected officials.

Rave: SO is a six+ year DCIS survivor and last week's mammogram was unremarkable.

Rave: Another fiesta weekend: SanMiguelada and PM bullfights.

Rave: US Social Security retirement benies have been approved at the maximum level.

Rant: Ill-prepared, impaired and irresponsible drivers. Liability insurance is mandatory in Mexico and if you draw blood in a crash, you go to jail. Without insurance, you just might never get out.

Rave: Two polite and quiet groups of house guests since last Sunday.

Feliz fin de semana.

M

OWJ, sending prayers, hugs and good vibes your way. I have faith that this is all going to work out. God's just waiting for the perfect baby for you and Mr. OWJ.
