Rave. Saw Itzhak Perlman perform last night at Wolf Trap.

Rant. The line jumpers who are so important that they don't have to wait in line in heavy traffic and ride on the shoulders.

Rave - I have a full weekend of plans - a going away party for a friend, a late night special screening of an independent movie, two BBQs, and a volunteering effort at a minor league baseball game for my animal charity.

Rave - I'm leaving next Thursday to visit my parents on the lake in NH. :)

Rant - I have no time to do laundry etc to prep for the trip!

Rant: I miss Nomah but I think it was for the best.

Rant: The Red Sox still won't make the playoffs.

Rave: My brother and his family from Alabama have been staying at my house all week. 7 kids and 4 adults in a very small house. Its been great! The cousins will never forget their marathon Monopoly games or the time they're spending at the beach. We'll miss them when we go.

Rant: My car has been broken all week and DH has been trying hard to pinpoint the problem. In the meantime I have to drive his Old Soccermom Volvo wagon. I miss my speedy VW! :'(

Rave: Made yummy, healthy Chicken/Pasta/Pesto recipe last night with homemade pesto from Basil I grew in my garden! =P~

Rave: Our baby cat has decided that "helping" me make the bed every morning is fun stuff! He is so cute! ((@))

Rave: 73 degree weather this morning!

Rant: Husband opened all the doors and windows in the house, turned off the AC, then left for the gym. By the time I got out of the shower, it was back up to 85 degrees, humid as hell, and the house was a sauna. Grrrrrrr.

Rave: Our granddaughter and I have the same birthday, and will celebrate next week.

For her big present, her parents are taking her to Gulf World at Panama City Beach, where she will be a "dolphin trainer for the day", followed by an afternoon "swim with the dolphins" program.

She is so excited. She has always had an interest in the sea and its creatures, but even more so since her fifth grade class spent a week at the Sea Lab on the Mississippi coast in May.

Among the presents we have for her is a pretty little silver dolphin charm on a chain.

How wonderful to be turning 12 years old!

Rant: I myself will be somewhat older!

Rant: The tennis courts were too wet to play on this am.

Scarlett: I watched a nest of wrens fledge yesterday. You'd think that all the noise they make would attract every predator around.

Rant: Friend from high school got in car accident last weekend. She broke her arm pretty badly & had surgery Wednesday. Luckily, that was the extent of her injuries!

Rant: My nephew is leaving for home today after spending the last 2 months here!

Rant: The weather doesn't seem to know it's summer!

Rave: Spent a great day in Toronto with my nephew a few days ago!

Rave: Three weeks to a week on the beach in Cape Cod!

another rave--RAIN!!!!!!!! Finally!!! Its been dry as anything in the PNW this summer.

Rave: Beautiful weather here in north GA...left home and it was 68..just now called t&t and it is only 76.

Rave: Going to the mountains for the weekend. Supposed to be even cooler there. Should be a great day for some waterfall hikes.

Rant: Got the insurance premium renewal on the beach shack and the premium has gone up 25% for the 2nd year now.....Geez.......

Rant: Schools start back here on Monday..Means more traffic in the morning commute.

Huge Rave: My very best friend in the whole wide world called to say he and his wife are coming in 2 weeks for a visit!!

Our schools start back Monday also.
