I noticed that too, Faina. I completely respect everyone's right to post whatever they wish of FFR&R's. However, I did not feel right about posting my personal issues this week. This is only my opinion, it's not to judge anyone else's posts. So next Friday I'll do 2 weeks worth of R&R's.
|
FainaAgain, you have made everyone who posted some personal item or wants to do so feel bad now. The best thing to do during sad times is to try to live your normal life while grieving for the loss.

Rave: The kind words spoken here today. Good job, Fodorsville!
Rave: Meesthare's new house--get that spare room ready ;) Rant: OO's unexpected 'trip'...Feel better! Big hugs, everybody! Hope the hurricane stays away from all of us... |
Oh leelane, I think you truly misunderstood Faina. She wasn't saying what people should post or not post, she was just commenting on what she noticed.
And we all have taken in interest in Fodorite's personal stories this week. Faina, interesting story about your co-worker and the employee down the hall. Were both of the families from the Azores by any chance? In the Bay Area there were so many people from the Azores that settled around the Bay Area. And as OWJ said, big hugs and yes, may the hurricane stay away from everyone. Safe and happy weekend to all. |
Ohh... I didn't mean to say anything nasty!
|
No matter how we feel, we cannot change what has happened in London. We can feel as miserable, sad, and distraught as possible and it doesn't change history one bit. Better to square our shoulders, say our prayers, and not allow the evil to rule us.
Clearly, our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in England. But life marches on and for this weekend perhaps with not much joy. I'll be damned if I allow the purveyors of evil to win. Faina...I read nothing nasty in your words. Have a great weekend all. |
Faina, I'd suggest you ignore leelane's comments about your perfectly innocent post. I once posted this on a thread about the movie Sideways while we were all having an intelligent discussion:
"Cassandra, I'm curious why you feel it was obvious "those who made the film clearly were fond of these losers and seemed to think there's something kind of adorable about them and their adolescent, pretentious and/or irresponsible ways....." To that, leelane posted: "Patrick should not insult Cassandra because she does not see things his way. He could disagree or question just a little bit more nicely, in my opinion." It seems leelane is unable to distinquish simple statements or questioning ones from insults! Several other posters questioned what she was talking about on that thread as well. |
FainaAgain, I did not say that you were nasty with your comment. I think that you and P_M spoke without thinking how others might interpret your comments. Patrick, what you say and how you mean it is often a matter of interpretation. You are very cutting and sarcastic with other posters at times.

Rant: The bombings in London
Rave: I believe justice will prevail sooner or later Rave: Mr. Pickle and I celebrate our 23rd anniversary Sunday! ((L)) @};- Rave: We had a lovely Independence Day celebration - minor league baseball and fireworks **== Praying for all of you in the path of the hurricane. Lee Ann |
Yes, leelane, like that directly quoted post above -- I was so rude to Cassandra saying, "I'm curious why. . ."
Now I will admit being a bit rude to you, but you will notice it was after your comments about Faina as well as to myself. I feel no guilt about being a little harsh to those who are being harsh themselves. And I'll readily admit I do that, but I'm unaware of doing it to others without cause. Hopefully you can tell the difference between a bit of humor or wit and being sarcastic and rude. But considering how you interpret a phrase like, "I'm curious. . ." I really doubt that you can. |
Leelane, we're trying really hard not to get this thread pulled. Please don't tell Faina how she made "everyone" feel. I for one posted personal rants/raves and I have no problem whatever with Faina's post. I completely understand where she's coming from. If you need to make comments on your own behalf, that's fine, but don't make them for anybody else.

A Rant that really ticks me off:
Before Joseph Duncan murdered four people and kidnapped two of the children in Idaho he had been released by an ignorant judge in Detroit Lakes Minnesota for a child molestation and set free on bond. This bond release happened only One month before he went to Idaho and killed that family. When a local reporter asked him why he let Duncan go the judge said "...I don't recall if I recall because I don't recall what the bond was set at". Duncan has been a sexual preditor since he was 16 and has been in prison for twenty years. That judge is a flaming idiot. |
Leelane, kindly re-read my post. I thought I made it very clear that I completely respect everyone else's right to post whatever they wish and I meant that.
|
LOL, just rub some spit on it and shake it off! Some folks get hyper over nothing. Ciao.

Rant- the horrrible tragedy that are friends in London are facing right now.

All we are saying is give peace a chance..come on..let the quibbling go this week.
|
and..jorr I'm with you on the predators doing their time. I treat folks still grappling with the impact of childhood sexual abuse long after the fact.
|
Jor and PamSF, I agree with you a 100%. Sometimes the court systems leave me furious with their decisions. I know a lot of people that agree. Best wishes to both of you.

leelane911,
You really need to relax! I've been flamed by Patrick; it's all part and parcel of posting on a forum. Does that mean I don't value his opinion? Of course not! he gives valuable advice and generally I agree with his posts :-) Rant – the weather in MA, Rave - my newly sown grass is growing thanks to the recent rainfall. Rave - best friend visiting this week - I've known her for 31 years, friends like that are irreplaceable Rave - being a Brit! |
