Saraho,

Welcome back to Virginia. In case you will still be looking at housing areas, there are new town houses being built off Ox Road in Woodstock just a little south of the high school. I believe they are in the $250,000 range.

The site work I ranted about a couple of weeks ago is progressing. No word yet on type of houses that will be built there yet. That is on the end of N. Summit which off North Street, the road next to the Catholic church.

Enjoy your trip.

Saraho Jun 17th, 2006 07:26 AM

thanks, Ronkala, I probably won't be house hunting this trip- I'll be at my daughter's in Arlington. But I'll certainly get in touch with you for housing information as soon as we sell our house here. Then we'll probably rent while we are looking for a house. How are the prices? They have started to go down in DC. What about in Woodstock and Winchester?

Hey, kopp, I didn't know our looney made the news. The story you heard--did that happen in Wells Branch? If so, then it's the same looney. Of course, there are so many looneys in the world these days, I just want to make sure we are talking about the same one. I'm googling now to try and find that story.

P_M - it was in the Statesman a couple weeks ago. Sure sounds like the same. I can't find it on their website and I don't have my old papers, but I've just sent them an email to see if they can send me a link. I'll let you know.

Rave: School is out for the summer!

Rant: In-laws coming for Father's Day. MIL practically pulls out a white glove and then gives my husband a report.

Rave: Summer is here!'

Rant: Summer school starts in a week. At least it is some spending money for vacation!!

P_M Jun 17th, 2006 09:00 AM

Thanks, kopp!! :-) Based on the timing, I bet it was him.

We had a chant many decades ago that 10% of folks got 90% of all disease, but still true that 10% get 90% of life's bad stuff.
Buen provecho y buen viajes, mis amigos.

Malesherbes, I didn't know until today that you were 00!

Saraho

Resales in this area seem to be holding steady, but the big builders from northern Virginia are moving in and building those huge ohmygawd homes in the low to mid $400,000 range.

We are hoping the site behind us will be sold as individual lots so custom built homes will be built there instead of the cookie cutters the large developers are putting up..

Hey P_M, if you check back here...

Yesterday I wanted to post to you but didn't get a chance. I am sorry about your arm. For the future, ask them to use a 'butterfly' needle to draw you vs. the regular kind. The butterfly is smaller and easier for a difficult draw. I used to be a very easy draw until recent events, and it is helpful now if they use the butterfly. A wonderful phlebotomist gave me that tip.

Hope your hematoma heals rapidly, doll.

P_M Jun 18th, 2006 03:11 PM

Hey, Tiff, thanks for your kind words and good thoughts. I'll remember the butterfly needle. It is looking a little better now, but it's still quite visible, even after a week.

I know the weekend is over, but I had to tag on this rave:

NACHO LIBRE! This is the funniest movie I've seen in a long, long time. Think Napoleon Dynamite but even better---it has a plot. Nasty sight humor, stretchy pants on a big guy, verboten nun-monk romance--this has it all! The song he made up (during his one day of living in the "wilderness" as a hermit) for the nun is alone worth the price of admission. ((y))

is it my imagination, or has Fodor's very recently added new emoticons? bravo . . .

JAGIRL Jun 19th, 2006 04:38 AM

Probably your imagination...
