Florida Panhandle
Looking forward to our upcoming Vacation at the Florida Panhandle. We have rented a beachside cottage and looking for suggestions, local restaurants serving fish and oysters, places to visit and things to do. We are trailering our Motorcycle, bicycles and beach chairs.
I had read about a village type setting, rooms in a quaint village setting but now I can not find it. They had rooms in a Hotel or other buildings, shops, restaurants all withing walking distance, reminded me of a Disney Village. I did not save to my favorites, now cant find it. It was not one of the big high rise communities. suggestions.

I agree - Seaside - but the area it is in is called "Thirty-A" by the locals (Beaches of South Walton by the Tourist Development Center) and is 15 "unique seaside villages".
No buildings over 4 stories allowed. There is a 20 mile bike trail that parralels the road - and there are more dune lakes than anywhere in the country. Seaside, WaterColor, Gulf Place, Rosemary Beach - all have a village setting with shops and restaurants. Our favorite is Cafe Tango - but there are so many!
