I like Cafe Tu Tu Tango. Lots of fun - great drinks, good food approach (you order lots of appetizer size portions to share) and always something going on...artist painting, singers, dancers, et. Love to have my cards read there. Have bought original artwork for gifts and for home. Neat place.
Second choice - Bahama Breeze. Be sure to order their signature frozen drink and banana dessert. The latter is awesome!

The restaurants suggested above are chain restaurants that are fine but not unique to Orlando. It would be easier if I knew what area will you be staying?
In the downtown area, there is a place called Lee's Lakeside, right on Lake Eola and the downtown skyline. Very nice, great food, reasonable prices (entrees probably range from $15-25). For a great steak Linda's La Cantina - also reasonably priced. For great Italian - Enzo's.
Be ahppy to provide more info if I know where you'll be. I lived there for 20 years.

Seasons 52 is Darden restaurant prototype. It is very good and I hope it goes to roll out. Many peoples favorite restaurants in Orlando tend to be chain restaurants. Some like TuTu Tango have very limited venues (like Coconut Grove in Florida ) and there are not very many Bahama Breeze restaurants (Darden again) yet. They have unique theming and appeal. Are they great? Depends on your point of view.
My favorite restaurant in Orlando right now is Primo, the signature restaurant at the JW Marriott. I had one of my best meals ever there and the atmosphere was casual yet elegant. Restaurant specializes in organic produce, great fish (not fish farm crap), Niman Ranch beef and pork. Superb wines.
Here are some photos of the restaurant and the hotels:

I agree with Cafe Tu Tu Tango. I believe it's on International Drive (the main drag). The atmosphere is very cool. Very artsy & eclectic. Great intimate feel. Really good drinks & good mexican/spanish food.

The ones I mentioned (CTTT and BB) are moderately priced with a wide variety of items. I've gone there with large and diverse groups and the menus are large enough to accomodate everyone. Plus, they are fun. They ARE part of (limited) chains but that's not a negative in my book.
But, I have to agree that Seasons 52 is WONDERFUL! It is pricey, but very, very good. The concept is great. A new menu each week, highlighting what's in season each week (hence the name). Superb food, a great ambiance. More of a destination restaurant than the two I mentioned. I love what they do with desserts. Basically, they serve shooter size portions of desserts so you can have a bite or two (three bites at the most) of yummy desserts, but not feel guilty! (The banana dessert at BB still wins in my book though)
Having said all that, if I were flying into Orlando I'd go to CTTT the first night and then BB the next. Obviously, I'm not a "foodie" but love to eat, nevertheless!
There's a great Thai restaurant I like but not near Kiss-a-me, and a NY style deli (I think named Sinatra) in a strip mall - but again not close to you. Have a great trip!
