Hi. We will be traveling from NY through the plains and NW. Any suggestions on "must see" or cafes with good coffee? Any suggested off the beaten path roads? We also will be staying in contact via the internet. Any suggestions on servers or 800 numbers for connections? (aol, etc.)Leaving in May.Thanks!
The best way to plan your trip is to buy a Milepost book. It covers absolutely every mile from the Canadian border on up. It also shows little out of the way places. I believe the Milepost also has a website. Do a search under "Alaska Milepost".

The Milepost does have a web page, though it is young and has some growing to do it is still helpful, having many links to various Alaskan businesses' pages - showing photos of accomodations etc. You still need to buy the book and can order it from the site: http://www.themilepost.com/
