Driving from Jackson, Wy to Houston, Tx
Anyone have suggestions on routes to take or things to see driving from Jackson, Wy to Houston, Tx? We will be going through Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma and have never been through those states.

Are you looking for the fastest route or are you just wanting to drive through those states? Fastest would be 80 east to 25 south (stop and see Rocky NP)to Raton, NM to Amarillo to Dallas via 287 then 45 into Houston. It will be easier to give recommendations on what to see once you settle on a route and time frame.

When?
I have lived in OK all my life. Frankly, there isn't any major attractions. Maybe, the OKC bombing Memorial and a few places to dine. Kansas is not any better.
Much more interesting in Colorado. and as Dayle suggests-I would consider going thru UT and NM too.

There are many neat places you might visit in Kansas, depending on your interests. For example...
If you like folk art, tiny Lucas has the Grassroots Arts Center, Garden of Eden and several other small attraction. Its is a wonderful place to spend 3 or 4 hours.
If you are a space or aviation buff, the Kansas Cosmosphere is a must visit, a world class space museum with Apollo 13, Liberty Bell 7, SR-71 Blackbird, Imax, planetarium, and more Soviet space artifacts than anywhere else in the western Hemisphere.
There are many other options, but tell us what you like: museums, wildlife, scenery, zoos, antiques, fine dining, local dives, history, music, etc.
