Drinking town

These are 3 places that immediately come to mind. And will any future posters please spare us all the rhetoric on responsible partying? Thank you.
New Orleans. Good party atmsophere. French Quarter is full of people having a good time. No need for taxis. Grab a mixed drink or whatever at a drink stand on the sidewalk and head on. Bourbon Street is only one street of many in the French Quarter, so don't limit yourself. But if you do wander down to Bourbon, take a camera. You never know what you'll see.
Key West. Do a Duval Street pub crawl. Or at least try. No need for taxis here either. And for God's sake don't try to navigate around in a car. You'll thank me later. Even though Jimmy Buffett lived there only a short time, it's easy to see the mark it left on his songs and the mark he left on Key West. Beautiful sunsets, nice weather, and quite possibly more eccentrics there than New Orleans.
Las Vegas. DO take a taxi. Sin City is open 24/7, so you may see people still out partying as you go for your morning coffee. Mandalay Bay has a good variety of watering holes. Check out the bar Drink too. A cool place to lounge and have a drink before conquering the town is the lounge at the top of the Polo Towers. Kinda cheesy, but not in a stinky Fremont St. kinda way.
Cheers!

I agree with New Orleans, Vegas and Key West. I love New Orleans, but Vegas has my heart. In Vegas you can get sooooo smashed and stay in a excellent resort casino alot cheaper than the other 2 places, but.....you can't beat the true heart of a partier in NOLA. Key West is beautiful and a good time as well. Anyway I guess my vote is for all 3. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in Western Pennsylvania and have tied some pretty good ones on in the Pittsburgh area. There's Station Square with several great bars under one roof; there's the South Side where every other business is a bar and there is our famous 'Strip District' which is not an actual district for stripping, but a 'strip of retail businesses' along one street. There are some unique hard-drinking sites here...give us a try; you might like us!

Not sure we can compete with Granny's Holler for demographics of sobriety, but Chicago has the highest level of beer consumption of all US cities, and Wisc. has highest beer consumtion of all states. I think NYC has highest level of hard-liquor purchase and SF the highest of wine -- although I could have that backwards.
