Does anybody remember summer?

I can't take it anymore, I still have flannel sheets on the beds, my winter clothes are still in use and my skin is almost gray from lack of sun...no wonder Seattle has a high suicide rate, I'd jump off the space needle if the weather was always like this. When is summer coming? Help, I can't take it any longer....

Nina, if it makes you feel better the Golden Gate Bridge is a more popular spot to jump off Check SouthWest website, you can take cheap flights too... San Diego? Phenix? LA area?

I'm sorry Nina. Its been summer here in the Southeast since the first week in March. Are you new to Seattle? If so, didn't you know the weather was going to be depressing? I love Seattle, but I could NEVER live there.

I hope things clear and cheer up for you.

Well, don't come to San Diego right now. We're deep into "June Gloom" and we can't handle not seeing the sun for more than a day at a time.

i think nina is on the east coast. it hasn't stopped raining for more than a day at a time in like 2 months. it's terrible. today is gorgeous in NYC. But---it's supposed to rain tomorrow. I grew up in CA and I really can't take this anymore.

I've been lathering on the 30+ plus for a few weeks now...

Barb, Just returned from your beautiful city. Yes. We were one of those RnR Marthon tourists that clogged up I-5 and the side streets.
Nice to be back in NoCal so we can see the sun again!

But, we'll def be back. Forgot how much we enjoyed that city.
I even got to sit on my fave park bench that was voted "best place to sit and eat a bag lunch" (or something like that) by San Diego Mag...Cabrillo Natl Mon's park benches.
GORGEOUS!

No luck here in SoCal. Thick June gloom overcast, drizzling, even sprinkling near the beach. Turned on the tv just in time to hear the weatherwoman say to expect this through next Wednesday.

Well, at least we will get some partial afternoon clearing each day before the haze rolls in again, and the temps are mild, but I am badly missing a nice, bright, dry, high-UV morning!

Wait, wait, wait. I'm confused. I'm in Seattle and it was 88 yesterday. It's supposed to be in the 90's today.

*checking nina's post to make sure it's dated 2003*

I kinda like June Gloom for bringing a bit of variety into our southern CA weather. But yeah, I would personally appreciate a LITTLE sun at some point while I'm up here in Santa Monica working. My hometown is on a south-facing piece of coast, and the overcast burns off (usually) by 11-- while it may never burn off up here. Dammit.

Summer has settled in for the Southeast, yeah-- is it crazy-humid like it usually is in summer? I'm gonna be there in four weeks, I want to make sure I'm prepared for feeling like a steamed asparagus....

I moved to Seattle 18 months ago from San Diego and LOVE it here. We've had absolutely beautiful weather lately (93 today?) and the beautiful mountains still take my breath away.

I honestly don't mind the rain, but ask me again if we have an unseasonably "wet" season. So far, it's been very nice.

I don't miss brown San Diego at all -- except for maybe a Roberto's carne asada burrito.

And I honestly couldn't imagine living anywhere where it was hot with blazing sun all the time. It's been 90 here in the Seattle area for the past few days and I've been miserable. I do not like to sweat and I don't like the sun blazing down on me. Clouds are my friends.

To each their own, eh?

Summertime and the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin', and cotton is high.
Oh your daddy's rich, and your ma is good lookin'
So hush, little baby, don' yo' cry.

One of these mornin's you're goin' to rise up singin',
Then you'll spread you're wings an you'll take the sky.
But till that mornin, there's a-nothin' can harm you
With Daddy and Mammy standin' by.

Seattle is in the 80's. Glorious sunshine, minimal air pollution, NO mosquitoes, no humidity . . . ahhhhh.

Nothing like a Seattle summer.
