Destin area Ivan damage

We spent last Spring Break in a beachside condo in Destin. Any word on hurricane damage to condos in this area? We'd like to return for Thanksgiving. Thanks for any info!

My daughter's boss owns a condo in Destin, and it had extensive interior damage. This may not be true with all condos. I'd check, not just with the owners, but with the property management of the condos you are thinking about renting.

I don't know about Destin, but I was looking at a website for a realty company in Gulf Shores, which is nearby, and it said they were cancelling all rentals until December 1. The photos looked horrible.

Ah me...how sad. Does anyone know what sort of a hit they took at Seagrove Beach - that was our introduction to the panhandle, which we loved, and were hoping to return to..

Do a search for Destin. I know there was a website with hurricane pictures & information, but I don't have it bookmarked. We had a reservation for November 13 through RCI and it got canceled.

We have friends that live in Destin - most places had minimal damage - they really did dodge a bullet on this one. What is the name of the condo complex you rent in. We are headed down there this Friday night and if it is near us I would check it out. Destin off Old 98 is up about 20-30 above the gulf - so the storm surge didn't do as much damage as Okaloosa Island or Gulf Shores. Mainly the damage is to the roofs and as a result water inside. Here most businesses and life are back to normal.
