Do you mean THE MILEPOST??? It is a necessary reference is you are going to drive in Alaska. Lists mile/mile, road conditions, services, some attractions. It is a yearly publication that comes out every March. If you can get an older copy real cheap, there is little change year to year except for construction, which you can update online via the Alaska Highway dept.

You can pick them up discounted at the Anchorage Walmart. Until then head to your library and look at an older copy. It is available via order from most any bookstore if you don't want to wait.

BQ knows Alaska so well she could write a best-selling Alaska tour guide! ;-)

As for those who don't know it that well, I would STRONGLY suggest you purchase a Milepost as soon as possible. We got ours about a week before we went, and regretted that we didn't have more time to really study our itinerary in the Milepost before we got to Alaska. We found that the Milepost mentions a lot of things we had not read anywhere else.

You will love Alaska. Enjoy!
