Chef Mickey

I am going to Disney World May 13th - May 20th. I just tried to book dinner at Chef Mickey and it is all booked up. Does anyone have a Chef Mickey reservation for the week of May 14th they won't be using? If so, please email me and let me transfer your reservation into my name. My email address is [email protected]

Have you been to Chef Mickey's before? Just curious, as the only restaurant we've been to at WDW that we will never again return to is ... Chef Mickey's!

If I had a reservation I'd certainly offer it to you.

Try the discussion boards at www.wdwinfo.com. We had a great time at the Hollywood and Vine character-meal! Good Luck!

Question for LORI: I'm curious why you didn't like Chef Mickey's. We have priority seating there on May 21 for dinner. The reviews I've read for this restaurant were quite good, so please let me know about your experience there.

Thanks ahead of time for your reply!

Chef Mickey's was the only place we dined where we felt the Disney magic was conspicuously absent. We had reservations and were kept waiting in the lobby while we watched people come in and be seated, come in and be seated, come in and be seated. We questioned several times whether we had been called yet and got vague mumblings and confusion on the part of the staff. Honestly, I was so mad I was *this* close to tears by the time we were seated. Had we not had small (and by this time very hungry and crabby) children with us we'd have walked out without eating. Needless to say I can't remember the food at all.

I don't wish a bad dining experience on anyone, and I hope the service is wonderful and you have a great meal, Chris. Chances are that we were just there at a bad time. The Unofficial Guide to WDW rated it as a pretty swell place to dine based on people's written comments about food, service, friendliness etc.

Don't waste your time. If you want a place that's fun at the marketplace try Rainforest cafe or Wolfgan Pucks ( we loved his outdoor cafe with our kids. They played in the sidewalk fountains and ate Pizza and we had a great pasta dish made while you watch in line. I busted my bottom for a Chef Mickey reservation and was disappointed. ANY good restaurant in any of the parks and at the better hotels will have Mickey.

Try the character breakfast rather than dinner. We always dine there for at least one breakfast and have a great time. The food is good, but not exceptional. There are many characters there, all of whom pay attention to all the guests (including the adults). We have never had anything but good service when we've been there.
