casa 325
Has anyone stayed at Casa 325 in Key West? The web site sounds like it is close to the action but I haven't heard anything mentioned about it on this site and a search failed to turn up anything. I am seeking a B&B that is not as expensive as the ones usually mentioned here. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Several have rooms for a little over 100.00 and look to be fine for a couple of nights but I can only find recommendations for the Heron House and other more expensive places.

Have not stayed at the place you mention, but we did stay at 2 different B&Bs last October, La Pensione (www.lapensione.com) and The Mermaid and the Alligator (www.kwmermaid.com). Both were very nice, offered continental breakfast, onsite parking and had swimming pools. I think they were around $100-120 per night. The rates you are getting will also depend on the time of year you are going. Try doing a search on the internet for Key West or Florida Keys- that should pull up a bunch of web sites where you can find comprehensive lists of accomodations. Enjoy your trip- it was our first time there and we loved it!

I've probably walked by this place dozens of times but haven't ever noticed it and haven't heard any reviews of it either. Without any personal knowledge, the only negative I can think of is that there might be a problem with noise, since the location IS right in the middle of the action.

Thanks for the info on Lapension. Can you tell me a little more about it? Were the surroundings tropical? I called and can get a good rate for a room by the pool. I guess what I would really like to know is, does it have a cozy feel to it or is it sparsly furnished and sterile surroundings. Is it a place where you can park your car and get to everything you want to see? Any info would be very helpful, thanks.

Another place to consider would be Eden House. We stayed there a couple of years ago and found it to be really nice. They have rooms in all price ranges, from deluxe suites to a few rooms that you share a bath with another room. The rooms in the main building are not big, but also not expensive, clean and adequate.
The pool area is very nice, there is a hot tub, a sun deck, and a hammock area too. They also have afternoon happy hour, but no breakfast. But there are a lot of good breakfast spots in Key West. It's a few blocks from Duval Street but an interesting and easy walk. You can check out their web site.
