Cape Cod beaches

Where (on Cape Cod) can you find the best seashells, starfish, crabs, etc.? We stayed in Hyannis and Chatham last weekend. Hyannis had some shells, but Chatham had very few. I am asking because our 3 children love to look for shells, etc. while playing on the beach. Thanks!

We loved our stayed ar the Tides Motor inn on the outskirts of Provincetown. Hotel called this due to the dramatic low tide(on bay side). This creates wonderful opportunity for kids to walk out literally 100's of feet into the "ocean". Great for shells and crabs as well.

didn't mean to say only this specific hotel but the bay side of provincetown at low tide would be a good place to visit.

Have to agree with esg that bay side of Provincetown at low tide has to be one of the best areas to find these things.

There are numerous places to stay. Our favorite is the Sandcastle Resort with wonderful views of Provincetown center and the massive dunes surrounding Pilgrim Lake.

Another good area is Nauset Beach in Orleans. Found a Sand Dollar here. Very rare and symbolic.

In general, the bay side beaches at low tide have the most interesting things for kids to investigate. The best place is the bird sanctuary in North Eastham, which has hundreds of acres of sand flats at low tide where fiddler crabs pop out of their holes and scurry about.
